Fabric
96% virgin wool, 4% cashmere. This fabric is produced in limited editions for Politburo by Lanificio Bottoli, one of the few woolen mill in the world where all operations from washing the undressed flock to the delivery of the finished fabric are internal; here dyeing, spinning and weaving of the most luxurious fiber are exclusively made in Italy from 1861.
Backing leather is vegetable tanned using tannins, a natural substance can be found in many different trees and vegetables. These natural tannin extracts make the vegetable-tanned leather unique, immediately recognizable and easily distinguishable from leather tanned with other methods. This method is an artisan tradition that only Tuscan tanneries have handed down from father to son for over 200 years using antique recipes. Vegetable-tanned leather absorbs the traces of our living, it becomes older without ruining. The natural ageing does not compromise its resistance and gives it a vintage look with warm color shades showing evidence of being a natural product.
Buckle is made of Rhodoid, the most precious of all cellulose acetate, the only plastic material that comes not from petrol but from plant matter such as cotton staple fiber. It's different from any other material for its transparency, its brilliance of the colors and its three-dimensional effects. Its vegetable origin is also revealed to the touch, with a pleasing warm and silky effect. Rhodoid production process is still closely tied to the manual ability of the best artisan tradition, offering a really "handmade" piece.
